A report from the United States suggests …

"A report from the United States suggests that the LDS Church could be a $1 trillion denomination by 2044"

With an estimated wealth of $236 billion in 2022, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints could potentially cover all of its current expenses "forever" with returns from current investments without collecting any additional tithes from congregants. It could also become a $1 trillion denomination as early as 2044, a new report from The Widow's Mite contends.

Why we do what we do?

According to an article found in the December 13, 2015 Calgary Herald there were approximately 22,000 Mormons living in Calgary at that time. The total count of Mormons living in Alberta in 2015 amounted to about 1.1% of the population.

The Cross and Mormonism

n the shifting sands of Mormon theology, the cross has undergone dramatic attitude and doctrinal adjustments. This once revered symbol is now avoided within Mormon circles, partly due to Catholic opposition to their missionary efforts in Europe. The crucifix, with Jesus still suffering, was seen as a “Christian” symbol held by those without authority, where the Latter-day Saints present themselves as the “restored” Church energized with a reinstated priesthood and a God given mandate.

Ransom Sacrifice

The Watchtower’s denial of the Trinity and Christ’s Deity naturally affects their view of the atonement. They teach that the main reason Jesus came to earth was to vindicate the name of Jehovah and reverse Adam’s fall.

Prophecy according to Legrand Richards

I've been thinking over the past few months now, I wonder what Legrand Richards was like as a person. I bet he was a nice guy, that old guy on your street growing up that was like a grandfather and generally delighted in interaction with people.

Which is what makes a video like this a bit disturbing in a sense, does he really believe what he's saying here? In his own lecture he contradicts his own message on several points. If the message really was inspired of the Holy Spirit, would he make significant mistakes like that?

General Conference 2020 – President Nelson Has Invited Us to Prepare:

For those still basking in the glow of the General Conference 2020, let's reflect on how President Nelson asked followers of the Church of Latter day saints to prepare for this year's conference.

Study Joseph Smith's account of the First Vision as recorded in the Pearl of Great Price.

But which account? Did you know there are 9 different accounts of the 1st Vision? Written at different times for different audiences.

Anti-Mormon?

The church (LDS) has taught members to believe that church-approved materials were the most trustworthy source of information about the church. The Church also warns that anti-Mormon literature is full of half-truths, lies, and statements taken out of context.

Mormons are taught to use the label "anti-Mormon" to refer to anyone or anything critical of the church. The phrase "anti-Mormon" is one of the most powerful tools for controlling the information members receive. Once members learn to discount ANYTHING that's critical of the church, they self monitor what they read.

Were the Nephites the “other sheep”?

A summary of 2 Nephi 29 is that the new revelation divinely granted to Joseph Smith confirms Christ intended to confirm the Nephites under the wing of the Jewish blessing and lineage. And John 10:16 and Matthew 15:24 are used in justifying that belief.

John 10:16 – And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Matthew 15:24 – But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel
So, there must be others included in God’s plan for salvation other than the Jews.

Their true value of women

How does that old saying go? Your actions speak louder than words.

There's been a lot of changes in the recognition of the roles of women in the LDS Church, no doubt to the rising influence of the feminist movement in our current day and age. That recognition is a reaction to the culture; just like slavery, admission of black-skinned people to the priesthood, or the LGBTQ community's growing influence in our current culture and subsequent "revelations" in the LDS church.
